Are electronic cigarettes harmful?
An electronic cigarette, vaporizer, a vaporizer is a device that creates a highly dispersed aerosol, in simple words a vapor designed for inhalation.
The vapor is generated from a special liquid that evaporates when heated.
Externally, the device can be similar to a cigarette or an electronic smoking pipe.
The design of the electronic vaporizer is simple and consists of two main parts:
- The battery pack that powers the device;
- Atomizer or evaporator, which consists of a wick and a heating element.
The vaporizer is designed to supply liquid evenly to the heating element.
Is there nicotine in an e-cigarette?
There is also a nicotine-free version of using the device, where the smoker inhales a flavored vapor exclusively.
In essence, a vape is an inhaler.
However, there is one significant difference between these devices.
The vapor in the inhaler is produced by an increased level of pressure, but in the electronic cigarette by evaporation of liquid during the heating element.
Advertisers were also betting on people who wanted to quit smoking.
The benefits of e-cigarettes were supposed to be that they help get rid of nicotine addiction.
The WHO report at the 2014 tobacco control conference sounded harsh and uncompromising that e-cigarettes are just as harmful.
It also emphasized their health hazards.
This means that the world’s most respected public health organization has answered whether e-cigarettes are harmful to health in the affirmative.
In addition, at the same conference, the WHO also expressed concern about how popular e-cigarettes have become among teenagers.
Children who have never smoked before have decided to try them as a safer alternative to regular tobacco products.
Even sadder, many parents buy e-cigarettes for their children, thinking that in this way they will keep their precious child from an even greater danger.
What harm do e-cigarettes do to the body
The main danger of e-cigarettes lies in the liquid used to fill them, which contains:
- The powerful carcinogens nitrosamine and ethylene glycol.
Scientists have proven that they contain about ten times more than in conventional cigarettes;
- Formaldehyde, a poisonous and highly toxic compound that can be fatal;
- Acetaldehyde is a carcinogen that not only poisons the body, but also creates an addiction (dependence) to smoking, and increases the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease.
On top of everything else, experts have found in the vast majority of cases, a clear discrepancy in the actual content of nicotine in vape liquid and the declared manufacturer.
It is important to emphasize that the concentration of all of the above compounds at times increased when overheating the e-cigarette.
What else are the harms of e-cigarettes with liquid, according to the scientific community:
- Aggressive marketing by e-cigarette manufacturers, based on the unproven benefits of the device, actually promotes nicotine addiction rather than combating it.
E-cigarettes are very popular with teenagers and promote smoking among them.
- When manufacturers are asked about the dangers and harms of e-cigarettes, they unanimously claim that there is no cause for concern because their devices simply generate water vapor, pure as the air itself.
This is a criminal and brazen lie, as the vape liquid contains other poisonous substances in addition to nicotine.
- Because electronic cigarettes appeared relatively recently, in the world there are still no uniform standards governing their production, as well as quality and safety checks.
- Electronic cigarettes are high-risk devices that can explode or ignite if used improperly.
- The liquid to refill a vape is also extremely dangerous, especially for children.
A replacement e-cigarette cartridge contains a dose of nicotine that is lethal to an adult.
Therefore, you should use a particularly sturdy packaging to store it.
- Nicotine in vape liquids refers to neurotoxins and alkaloids that form a persistent physical and mental dependence, which negates all arguments about the usefulness of electronic cigarettes in the fight against nicotine addiction.
- Electronic cigarettes as well as ordinary tobacco products increase the risk of diseases typical for smokers.
Quit Smoking in 10 Days
Smoking cessation companies keep selling us the “magic formulas” to quit smoking for hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of dollars for a session.
They give us gums, pills, patches, and some other “magic quick fix”, then they promise a 98% quit rate.
Unfortunately, this is not even close to being the truth.
Look at the stats:
According to a 2015 survey of the FDA, about 55% of adult smokers in the United States had attempted to quit in the past year, and only 7% were successful in quitting for 6-12 months.
Many smokers wouldn’t even succeed at quitting smoking, and among the ones who would, the majority would relapse.
Though quitting smoking is not a simple process, it’s very possible.
If you avoid the 3 common mistakes, quitting smoking could be a very simple process.
Replacing the cigarettes with another unsupportive habit
Often, smokers will try to quit smoking by filling that void inside themselves with other things, such as electronic cigarettes and food.
This is also the reason many people gain weight after they quit smoking.
It wasn’t the cigarettes that kept them slim, they just simply replaced one habit with another.
Break the habit in order to succeed, especially in the long run.
Gradually reducing the number of cigarettes every day.
It might work with other struggles in life, such as getting over anxiety, but it just doesn’t work with smoking cessation.
The reason is that the cigarette becomes even more special when you know you can’t have it until a certain time.
To quit smoking, quit at once while knowing there is no way back.
Using nicotine replacement to “ease” the process
According to some “experts”, use nicotine patches, gums, and many other “magic potions” to help you get over the withdrawal symptoms and the physical need of your body for nicotine.
While it helps you skip cigarettes at first, it doesn’t let your body wash the nicotine away.
Instead, you keep supplying nicotine to your body without smoking, and eventually, you’ll relapse.
The solution for these 3 common mistakes:
